About

About Paving Practices

Paving Practices helps clinicians and organizations build stronger pathways from education into sustainable clinical practice.

Our work focuses on clinician integration, healthcare workforce development, primary care, rural and underserved health, community-based care, and value-based care readiness. We support Physician Associates, Nurse Practitioners, advanced practice clinicians, healthcare systems, higher education institutions, rural clinics, and community-based care partners.

Healthcare workforce challenges are not solved by hiring alone. Clinicians need structured onboarding, role clarity, clinical reinforcement, reflective learning, team connection, and support as they transition into real-world practice. Healthcare organizations also need better ways to integrate clinicians across teams, workflows, departments, and care settings.

Our goal is simple: to support clinicians and organizations in building sustainable, team-based, patient-centered care.

Paving Practices helps build that infrastructure.

Through structured postgraduate learning, clinician onboarding support, transition-to-practice programming, value-based care education, and workforce development strategy, we help connect education, clinical practice, and care delivery goals.

Workforce Development

We support structured pathways that help clinicians enter practice, build confidence, grow professionally, and remain connected to meaningful work.

Rural and Underserved Health

We focus on care settings where workforce instability directly affects access, continuity, chronic disease management, and patient outcomes.

Value-Based Care Readiness

We help clinicians and organizations connect everyday care delivery with prevention, continuity, quality, cost-conscious care, patient engagement, and outcomes.

Academic–Clinical Partnerships

We support collaboration between higher education institutions and healthcare organizations so education is better connected to real workforce needs and care delivery priorities.

Career Path

Why It Matters

A filled position is not the same as stable care delivery. Clinicians need more than credentials and employment. They need support, integration, mentorship, workflow understanding, and systems that help them succeed over time.

Paving Practices exists to help clinicians, healthcare systems, higher education institutions, and rural or underserved care partners build the structured support needed for sustainable care delivery.

Our Founder

Paving Practices was founded by Kenneth Botelho, DMSc, PA-C, a Physician Associate, educator, and healthcare workforce advocate whose work focuses on clinician integration, primary care workforce development, rural health, and value-based care readiness.

His experience in primary care, higher education, clinical training, and healthcare workforce strategy informs the organization’s focus on building structured pathways that help clinicians and healthcare organizations move from hiring to meaningful integration.
